Mahesh Manjrekar puts his acting skills at stake by playing eunuch in Rajjo!
Director cum actor Mahesh Manjrekar seems to be facing the biggest challenge of his acting career as he is to play a eunuch in Rajjo.
Rajjo is the story of a Muslim notch girl and the Brahmin boy. It’s not just a love story but also focuses on Mujra houses which are dwindling down with the time. Mahesh who fits the bill for the role according to the debutant director Vishwas Patil is facing lots of trouble while acting and is being tested in patience by waiting for hours and hours for the makeup.
Mahesh reveals himself the cumbersome task, “Getting ready is a big issue for me as it takes hours. The make-up, the hairdo and donning an elaborate costume consumes so much time. I now realize what our heroines go through day in and out.”
He adds some more about the character, “It was something very out of the box for me. Also, I have taken utmost care not to give a stereotypical portrayal of the character. Eunuchs are human beings experiencing the same emotions. I have tried to keep the depiction as normal as possible. If there is a bad side, there is a good side too.”
